Manny Pacquiao To Fight Shane Mosley!

With a mega fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. a no go, indefinitely, Manny Pacquiao is moving on to the next one; the next one, being a 2011 bout with Shane Mosley.

According to reports, the two fighters are all but signed to meet May 7, 2011 in Las Vegas.

Manny’s promoter said Tuesday that the fight is a done deal.

“Shane has agreed to everything and now we’re circulating the paperwork for final signatures, the drafts have been sent to his lawyer,” says promoter Bob Arum. “Whether it gets signed tomorrow or the next day, it’s done.”

Pacquiao, 32, is coming off winning his record eighth title in November with a unanimous decision over Antonio Margarito at Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

In May, Mosley, 37, lost a lopsided unanimous decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr. Four months later, Mosley was humbled in a draw against junior-middleweight Sergio Mora.

Mosley also confirmed that his purse stands to be around $5 million against Pac Man. But with incentives, Mosley could wind up earning a career-high amount, surpassing the previous career-best of $7 million that he earned after his unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather.

Who You Got?: Floyd Mayweather Jr Vs Sugar Shane Mosely

Nothing in all of sports beats a great boxing match. It’s the ultimate challenge, two men matching their skills and wits. Where one mistake can leave one of them staring up at the ring lights wondering what the hell just happened.

Tomorrow (May 1) in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Sugar Shane Mosley meet in a match that will determine who is the best fighter in the world today not named Manny Pacquiao.

Both fighters have already made history by agreeing to Olympic Style drug testing leading up to the fight.

I brought USADA in to keep the sport on an even playing field. Everyone knows this is done for the betterment of the sport,” says Mayweather. “After I get blood taken, I’ll go in and box 12 or 13 rounds, no problem whatsoever.”

Floyd will make a reported $40 million while Shane will take home $7 million for a fight that’s expected to shatter all previous Pay-Per-View records.

Both fighters are confident going into the match. Floyd is the clear favorite and sees Shane as “just another victim“, but that doesn’t bother Shane at all.

At this point it doesn’t even bother me,” he said. “They were picking (Antonio) Margarito to win, too, by a landslide, and people were talking about my health, that he was going to retire me.

I’m telling you guys, (Mayweather’s) not going to beat me.”

All the talking is done now. As Michael Buffer would say, “Let’s get ready to rumble!
