Former basketball star Steve Francis is being accused of sexual assaulting a woman in Texas last year.
According to reports by TMZ:
Francis allegedly “groped” a 20-year-old woman through her clothing in May 2010 … and the woman immediately went to the cops to file a complaint.
The alleged victim tells TMZ … she is a singer who was signed to Steve’s record label and on the day of the alleged incident, she had met Steve at an office to discuss her contract.
The woman, Shauna Simien, tells us the “groping” while the two were talking outside, when Francis reached down and grabbed her between the legs.
Simien claims she screamed for him to stop — and that’s when a few of her friends, whom she brought along for protection, rushed over to break things up.
Despite the fact Simien filed her police report more than a YEAR ago, law enforcement sources tell TMZ the case is still open and no charges have been filed.
Simien says she is frustrated the case has not progressed and is considering a lawsuit against the District Attorney’s office.

Chris Brown has been a controversial figure over the last 2 years but it looks like the drama hasn’t had a negative effect on his career with, “F.A.M.E.,” selling 270k records in the first week of sales. Looks like album sales are on the way up with Lupe Fiasco selling 204k records during his first week.
Em’s original contract stated that individual songs sold online would count as a license rather than a sale.
The Supreme Court ruled against the appeal filed by UMG since they lost the case last year and now what is estimated to be around a $20 million value in unpaid royalties shall increase to somewhere around $50 million within the next decade.
So what does this mean? It affects the artists that had contracts way before digital sales existed.
The language in that paperwork may only be granting some singers, rappers and musicians a sale royalty rate instead of a licensing one that would increase their income.
There are heavily downloaded songs that labels are benefiting from in today’s declining record industry.
UMG most likely set off a warning for majors to take action before artists catch wind. Stay tuned.
Beyonce has officially announced that her father Matthew Knowles will no longer manage her.
The ex-Destiny’s Child singer made the announcement Monday and her father has since responded with a statement claiming that the split was amicable.
“The decision for Beyonce and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual. We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment.
Currently, I am very focused on the tremendous investment that our record label has made in the gospel/inspirational genre of music and on our supremely talented roster of artists, including Trin-i-tee 5:7, Brian Courtney Wilson, Juanita Bynum, Micah Stampley, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Pastor Rudy and others.
Music World will continue its partnership with Sony with Destiny’s Child and UK female group From Above, as well as management. We will also continue to develop the Music World family of labels: Music World Country/Compadre, Music World Kids and Music World Music. In Music World’s repositioning it will not continue its label/management role with Columbia/Sony artist Tiffany Evans.
Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.”
