Last Dayz: 5.9 Earthquake Rocks The East Coast!

11 million people have reportedly felt the shake but there has been no word of any injuries so far.

A 5.9 earthquake may be no big deal on the West Coast but here on the East side of America it caused a panic around 1:15 p.m. ET and lasted for about 30 to 45 seconds.

The quake was centered near Mineral, VA but was felt in Washington, New York City, Rhode Island and North Carolina. Government buildings in New York were evacuated and The Pentagon in D.C was evacuated as well.
Doug Kammerer, meteorlogist with the NBC affiliate in Washington, calls the tremor a “very big earthquake for our area.”

President Obama Is Glad Mike Vick Got A Second Chance!

Though the Eagles didn’t have a chance to make news on the field, they made some more news off the field.

It has been revealed that President Obama called Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to congratulate the team for giving quarterback Mike Vick a second chance after the football star was jailed for dog fighting. If he wasn’t having the best comeback season ever, he is now!

President Obama explained that a level playing field rarely exists for prisoners who have completed their sentences.  Vick’s success gives all of them hope.

President Obama Wants Jay-Z’s Help For Re-Election Campaign!

Rap impresario Jay-Z has long since been respected as a presidential MC and now there are reports that President Barack Obama will request Hov’s services for his re-election bid.

Deputy White House Press Secretary William Burton recently joked with the New York Post,

“I can’t believe you’ve finally heard the chatter about [Jay] replacing Larry Summers. In all seriousness, keep in mind he was pretty active during the 2008 election, so I don’t think it’d surprise anyone that [Jay] would be involved again. But it’s a little premature.”

In recent years, Jay-Z has become more viable as mainstream figurehead and was unofficially instrumental in rallying youth for the ’08 presidential campaign.

As recently reported, Jay recently recorded a motivational ad helping to encourage voters to “use their voice.”

In a new ad campaign, Jay-Z is encouraging the younger generation to “Fight for what’s right and what you believe.”

The 30 second video taken after President Obama’s historic 2009 victory, shows Jay giving the crowd a motivational speech about how their vote truly made a difference in America.

Professor Cornel West Criticizes President Obama Again!

Professor and activist Cornel West has confessed that he’s having second thoughts about President Obama.

In an interview with NPR, Dr. West states that he not only does he wish the president were more “Martin Luther King-like“, but also voiced his concern about the lack of love and respect he sees between races.

“More and more black folk tend to be well-adjusted to Obama’s presidency, but does that mean they’re well-adjusted to injustice?”Dr. West said in the interview.

“We don’t hear our president talking about the need for high-quality jobs for everybody, giving it priority, not just giving a speech in Detroit. When are you going to make jobs rather than Wall Street a priority? That’s what I’m concerned about.”

In the interview, Dr. West states that a lack of love and trust for the people of America as a whole is what’s driving the message of compassion for the poor to be pushed to the margin.

“Love and trust and justice, concern for the poor, that’s being pushed to the margins and you can see it…You can see it in terms of the obsession on Wall Street with not just profits but greed, more profit, more profit. You see it in our television culture that’s obsessed with superficial spectacle. You see it even in our educational systems, where the market model becomes central.”

Although Dr. West feels that President Obama shouldn’t have a “black agenda”, he does feel that it is necessary for the President to address issues that the community is facing.

President Obama Would Be Assassinator Pleads Guilty To Plot….

Paul Schlesselman, 19, of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, plead guilty on Thursday to charges he plotted to kill then-Sen. Barack Obama and dozens of other black people in 2008.

Schlesselman pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of conspiracy, one count of threatening to kill and harm a presidential candidate and one count of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in April.

A co-defendant, Daniel Cowart, 21, of Bells, Tenn., remains in custody.

According to The Associated Press, authorities have described the two as white supremacist skinheads who hatched a plot for a cross-country robbery and killing spree that was to culminate with an attack on Obama, who was then a candidate for president.

They were arrested in October 2008 and have been held without bond since.

Authorities have said that although the two had enough guns to create carnage, they never got close to carrying out their plans.
