Prior to speaking with Out, Irvin had not spoken publicly about his brother.

Irvin also speaks about his support for gay marriage with Out.

“I don’t see how any African-American, with any inkling of history, can say that you don’t have the right to live your life how you want to live your life,” Irvin said to the magazine.

“No one should be telling you who you should love, no one should be telling you who you should be spending the rest of your life with.

“When we start talking about equality, and everybody being treated equally, I don’t want to know an African-American who will say everybody doesn’t deserve equality.”

NFL’s MVP: Michael Vick Or Tom Brady?

With only two games left in the NFL regular season, fans of the better squads are starting to daydream about the playoffs. Also speculation ramps up about which players will get coveted awards like Rookie Of The Year and Most Valuable Player.

The MVP race is going to most likely be decided between Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick and New England Patriots signal caller Tom Brady.

Both are enjoying stellar seasons, leading their teams to the top of their respective divisions.

The Pats have an AFC leading 12 wins with only 2 losses. While the Eagles, coming off a stunning come from behind win over the New York Giants last Sunday are 10-4.

Vick’s season has been remarkable, especially when you consider the fact he wasn’t even expected to play much this year. At the beginning of the season he was playing second string to Kevin Kolb. If not for a Kolb injury in the first game of the year, Vick might have given the chance to prove that he’s an even better player now that he was prior to going to jail for dog fighting.

Vick has passed for 2,755 yards, with 20 touchdowns and a passer rating of 103.6. Add to that his rushing statistics of 613 yards at an average of 6.7 yards per carry with 8 tds and it’s easy to see why he could win MVP.

But Brady is having just as good of a season with far less offensive talent around him. Vick is playing with a talented young running back, LeSean McCoy and two dynamite wide receivers in Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin.

After Randy Moss was traded following week 4, Brady’s only proven player left on offense was Wes Welker.

The Patriots QB has thrown for 3,561 yards, 31 touchdowns with only 4 interceptions in 449 attempts. His passer rating of 109.9 in incredible.

Brady has thrown 292 passes in a row without an interception. This Sunday against the Buffalo Bills if he throws 17 more passes without an int he will break a 19 year old NFL record set by Bernie Kosar.

Both Vick and Brady are deserving of the MVP Award, but there can only be one. Cast your vote below for the player you think deserves it the most.

Brandon Jacobs Fined $10,000 For Throwing Helmet Into Stands!

The NFL has fined New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs $10,000 for throwing his helmet into the stands in Indianapolis on Sunday night.

Now that’s an expensive temper tantrum.

In a fit of frustration watching his team suffer a 38-14 loss to the Colts, Jacobs tossed his helmet into the crowd behind the Giants’ bench. The fans that caught it then played a game of tug-of-war for the helmet, even refusing to give it to security guards who were asking to return it to Jacobs.

The running back apologized profusely following the incident, insisting he meant to throw it toward the bench, but it slipped on his glove upward into the stands.

“I want to apologize one more time for accidentally tossing my helmet in the stands,” Jacobs said in a statement issued by the team on Tuesday. “It was something that happened because I was frustrated with the game, and I had no business tossing my helmet in the first place, and I am thankful that nobody was hurt.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin and team owner Jerry Reese called a meeting with Jacobs on Monday, where they discussed the six-year veteran’s issues with controlling his emotions on the sidelines.

“The whole incident upsets me,” Coughlin said. “It really makes no sense, it is a senseless act. I don’t know what you are going to accomplish by that. The frustration, you got to learn to deal with it. You got to have poise and have some patience and have some control. The only reason I emphatically say that is God forbid somebody could have gotten hurt.”

Jacobs also addressed the trade rumors that have been buzzing ever since Ahmad Bradshaw earned the nod as the Giants starting running back. He told reporters that contrary to reports, he does not want to be traded from New York and he just wants to help the team win.

“I have not demanded a trade and have no plans to demand a trade,” Jacobs said, according to ESPN.com. “The only demand I am making right now is of myself, to be the best player I can be and to help this team win.”
