Kanye West Responds To Critics About His Clothing Line!

Kanye is responding to detractors who’ve given him harsh criticism for his new DW womenswer line.

Ye was in Paris to debut the line this weekend dedicated to his late mother Donda West.

Since then, the line’s been brutally criticized from fashion aficionados like Lisa Armstrong, the fashion director for The Telegraph who dubbed it, ” rap with a capital-C.”

She also added,

“If this is the way fashion’s going then anyone with any real talent should seriously consider a career in Tesco instead. Because that’s a job with dignity. Unlike ghost-designing for a rapper who has the presumption to show “his” very first collection in Paris during prêt-à-porter – supposedly the summit for true creativity in fashion. It was the equivalent of Karl Lagerfeld launching a hip-hop career: i.e. absurd.”

Other outlets like The NY Times chimed in noticing that models were “swimming in some looks” while another added that it seemed like a “personal shout-out to J-Lo.”

Before the reviews of his show came-in, Kanye was obviously anticipating negativity and took the mic during Saturday’s debut to address it.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Ye went on a profanity laced rant thanking his supporters and downing his detractors from Louis Vuitton to Nike.

“Thank you for anybody that didn’t believe, because they motivated us to break our boundaries,” he said. “We don’t know what the reviews will be, we don’t know what they will say, but I got a chance to go to Italy and feel those fabrics. I begged Louis Vuitton to let me do more shoes after my shoes sold out in two weeks, and they did not. I begged Nike, I begged this company to let me do it. And I took out motherf*cking loans to get the best models, to get the best designers, to get the best venue. I gave you everything that I had.”

Kanye And Ciara At His DW Womenswear Debut

“This is my first collection. Please be easy. Please give me a chance to grow. This is not some celebrity sh*t. I don’t f*ck with celebrities. I f*ck with the creatives in this room, the amazing people who spend every day of their life trying to make the world a more beautiful place.

Before closing he added,

“The amount of people that tried to get me a celebrity f—ing deal. They said, ‘You need to do boot-cut jeans, or you won’t sell.’ Shut the f*ckup ! Or Hedi Slimane in the motherf*cking Mercer, sitting with me, saying, ‘Stop giving them your ideas, Kanye. Do your own thing.’ Hedi Slimane! To feel so frustrated. And I thank anybody who came to this party, everybody who supported, everybody who believed, because people thought it was a joke, and maybe people still do, but I can only grow from this point.”

Is Jay-Z & Kanye West Feuding Over “Watch The Throne”?

According to the report the duo is at ends over production costs with ‘Ye pushing for “next level” shows that would cost nearly half a billion.

On the other hand, Jigga, who already has a bulkier advance from LiveNation that he has to pay back, wants something more cost efficient.

Jay-Z can’t deal with Kanye,” an insider told Page Six.

“Jay is a stone-cold businessman. He wants to recoup all of his money from Live Nation. But Kanye wants to upstage rock stars with a blowout show. He doesn’t care about costs. He has a lot less to gain from the shows.”

The animosity may have already become evident as the duo performed separately alongside Jeezy at the Highline Ballroom on Monday (July 25).

“We were expecting them to come out together to perform a track from the album,” a source said. “They didn’t even go out together after the show.”

The Throne, as they are collectively called, is scheduled to perform at an listening party tonight at The Rose Planetarium in Central Park.

“Jay-Z is fed up with West’s antics,” another source said. “He doesn’t even want to be around him.”

Kanye is expected to agree to the terms of the tour next week.

I doubt the two are feuding but I can see there being artistic differences, especially with a huge tour and different visions.

“Me and Reggie [Bush] dated very briefly after Kanye…We were both each other’s rebound and we both knew that and were cool with that.”

AMBER ON BEING ICONIC:

KANYE WANTED ALBUM COVER BANNED & GETS $180,000 WATCH OF HIMSELF!

Kanye West is now saying that the entire motivation behind his album cover for “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” was to create “something that will be banned.” The rapper requested artist George Condo come up with some kind of artwork that would cause stores to ban it from shelves.

One of the vainest in the game, Kanye West does it again.

Reeling off the platinum success of his fifth studio album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, ‘Ye recently purchased a custom made 18k yellow gold Tiret Watch with an image of his own face formed in the dial.

The expensive 18-karat gold timepiece reportedly cost Yeezy $180,000 and uses over 8 karats of yellow, black, brown and white diamonds, to configure an image of the platinum rapper/producer.

According to The Luxist it took Tiret over five months to create the dial alone.

Last month, R&B singer Usher commissioned Tiret to make a one-of-a-kind watch with his own image on it as well, costing the crooner a quarter of a million dollars.

Drake Speaks On Kanye Removing His Verse On “All Of The Lights”!

RapRadar’s Eliott Wilson had a one on one sit down with Drizzy Drake before setting out to the U.K. installment of his Dreams & Nightmares tour with J. Cole.

The Young Money protege spoke on various topics such as possible regrets with his debut album, and his upcoming release Take Care.

A stand out excerpt from the interview, however, was his feelings on exclusion from Kanye’s track “All Of The Lights.”

An early version had leaked featuring a verse from the Toronto MC, however, the version that made the album had eleven different features, and Drake wasn’t one of them.

“I mean Kanye’s creative process is ever changing you know what I mean, he’s one of those guys we make music differently,” said Drake. “I make what comes to me and I hate changing it, where as Ye will change something 30 or 40 times to get it perfect.”

Drizzy went on to congratulate Ye on coming back from the negative stint, and expressed his admiration for him as an artist.

“I’m happy that he had a triumphant moment after all the negativity that he’s had to endure, Ye will always be….I can never say sit here and tell you he’s not one of my idols, that’s not one of my favorite rappers. I can’t say that, whatever energy I’ve ever felt is relevant when you ask me what do I think of Kanye West I’m going to always have something positive to say.”

Drake also shares that he feels no competitive vibes between him and Kanye, and is grateful for witnessing Ye’s growth throughout his career.

“I feel as if we can co-exist, I feel like hip hop is broad enough that we can both exist and give great music without feeling like it’s one or the other. But I might be the only one that feels that way, he’s part of the reason why I’m here musically.

“I’ve watched his career span from the moment of the first freestyle, the first set of mixtapes to now. I will always have a special place for that in my heart and I’m always grateful at the opportunity to work with him.”

Jay-Z’s Interview w/ The Associated Press!

Rapper’s generally aren’t the first people you think of when it comes to answering questions about political issues.

That’s not to say that rhyme sayers aren’t aware of what’s going on in the world.

Take Roc Nation CEO Jay-Z, for instance. He’s developed a friendship with our current President, Barack Obama. Also one of his good friends Kanye West, has recently been raked over the coals for five year old comments he made about former Commander In Chief, George Bush.

When the Associated Press asked about the Kanye West situation, Hov defended his friend.

“I think what Kanye went through was, he himself became that, over the Taylor Swift incident. People said he was racist. And he’s not a racist person, so it made him reflect on the comments that he made. But I 100 percent agreed with the comments that he made, because again … it felt like it was being done to black people. Like all you saw on the news was black people with help signs and all this stuff, and then you have this picture of the commander in chief, who we all rely on, just flying by. It’s like, What is that? If that had happened anywhere else besides New Orleans, would the response been so slow? Would Bush been on the ground? You have to ask these sort of questions. Just the fact that he thinks that the worst thing that happened to him is Kanye saying something about him. Like, what? That alone shows you where his mind is. Are you kidding me?” Hov said

A lot of people don’t remember that Hov got into a serious legal jam back in 1999, when he stabbed record executive Lance “Un” Rivera. At the time Jay-Z thought Lance had leaked his new album ‘Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter.‘ He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge that resulted in a sentence of three years probation.

Hov was asked to compare his situation to Lil Wayne’s recent incarceration on gun charges.

The same sort of thing almost happened to me, and I pride myself on being a disciplined person. I was looking out for that sort of thing. I was trying to avoid it, and it still happened to me, so it just goes to show how difficult it is. Once you become a so-called celebrity, your life or your decisions don’t stop. You have to make smarter decisions, because you’ve grown up living your life a certain way. Most people grow up and just smoke weed. You just smoke weed and think, “OK, I’ll keep weed in my pocket.” Now that you’re a celebrity, it’s a whole different sort of thing. Celebrities need to be conscious and know who they are, because the same choices they made as a civilian will cost them years as a celebrity.

Finally Jay weighed in on the current troubles President Obama has been facing.

I believe the same thing about Barack that I believed at day one. What he represents is bigger than any political agenda that he can pass across the House, Senate or whatever. I think that right now he’s going through a difficult period because people are putting the last eight years on his table and they’re judging him by it. You can’t expect a man to clean up eight years of mess in two years; it’s just bad math. It’s impossible.”

Pause: Lil B Apologizes For Saying He Wants To Rape Kanye West!

California emcee Lil B is taking back a controversial statement back he made on Twitter, where the ‘Based God’ emcee said he would rape Kanye West.

As previously reported, a number of his followers on the social networking site were outraged when he tweeted,

If Kanye Doesn’t Acknowledge Me Over Twitter And Work With Me On Music, When i see him im going to f*ck him in the a** – Lil B”

Now according to B, he spoke too soon and in an interview with VIBE he says that he forgot that Ye previously showed him love and he “respects him and his artistic ability.”

“What’s funny is that before I made that comment, I forgot that he posted one of my videos on his blog. God bless Kanye. He posted “Swag OD,” the song I did with Soulja Boy. I just forgot about that. Bottom line is I really just want to work with him and do some production for him. No one on earth is doing what I’m doing and time will prevail. I ain’t going to rush nothing. But he knows I respect him and his artistic ability. One day it will happen, he know I got love for him.”

He also adds that in 2011 he hopes to become the ‘Lady Gaga of rap.’

He tells VIBE,

“Think Lady Gaga, the rap version. Rap’s Lady Gaga, Phil Collins, Rick James, rap version of Prince, Canibus, MF Doom, Jay-Z, Michael Jackson, Tupac and Lil Wayne in a pot and mix it around. Smush em all together, stir the pot like soup—Lil B’s here. That’s 2011 and beyond.”

Kanye West Buys Fatburger Restaurants!

https://i0.wp.com/www.ruvilla.com/main/wp-content/uploads/kanye.jpg

Its not enough for Kanye West to get obese pockets off of platinum production, Billboard topping albums and expensive tennis shoes.

Now, there are reports that ‘Ye just recently copped the franchise rights for 10 Fatburger restaurants in Chicago through his holding company, KW Foods LLC.

Kanye’s manager Gee Robinson recently told TheDailyBeast.com,

“It’s safe to say that we’ll be doing more strategic partnerships in areas like fashion and design. Music is the foundation for everything Kanye does, but he doesn’t want to be defined only as a musician. He’s really a designer. He designs his sounds, his raps, all aspects of his tour. He wants to do deals where he can have his fingerprints on the product.”

The new acquisitions will only expand West’s portfolio of eating establishment as he already operates two of the restaurants in Orland Park, Illinois and the Beverly section of Chicago.

‘Ye joins the ranks of Pharrell Williams (China) and E-40 (California) as rappers who own pieces of the famous franchise.

Russell Simmons Tells Kanye He Shouldn’t Have Apologized To George Bush!

https://i0.wp.com/www.fresh-grind.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/russell-simmons-kanye-west.jpg

Dear Kanye,

I have early recollections of Damon Dash calling me and forcing me to put you on Def Poetry Jam.  I knew your record, “Through The Wire,” but I didn’t know much more.  When you took the stage on Def Poetry Jam that night, and spit those genuine, heartfelt words, I witnessed your specialness that Damon had emphatically told me about.

From that moment on, you became a poet who has inspired the poets.  I have proudly watched your career since then, and in case someone has missed the obvious, you are making a historical impact on music.  Your life story took a tough turn with the passing of your mother.  Although we grieved with you, we never really knew how much pain you were in.  We witnessed your moment at the MTV Music Awards and many of us dismissed it as, “oh that is just Kanye being Kanye.”  The hard part of all of this, is that we have all had moments in our lives that have been challenging, painful and hard to overcome, however most of us just hide our emotions and never deal with that inner-struggle that we face on a daily basis.  As an artist, Kanye, you have always looked inside for your inspiration…always exuding emotions that are in us, but that we never expose.  That is what artistry is about…to look inside for what is unique.  With your journey towards a higher level of consciousness, a journey that we all are on, you have shown through your art a commitment to greatness.

The thirty minute film you most recently made was beyond brilliant.  Brilliance is not a word that can even begin to describe your ability to paint vibrant, vivacious, colorful yet muted paintings of poetry, music, costume, art, design and most important, passion.  The passion you put into your new album is why I stayed up all those nights in the early 80’s trying to get DJs and radio stations to play our records.  I knew this day would come. Actually, maybe I didn’t know, but I really, really hoped it would.  I didn’t work this hard when I was your age to watch the culture go the wrong way.  And you, my friend, just took us to another level.  I am simply in awe.

With this power, as you know, comes great responsibility.  I am saying nothing you haven’t heard before.  When you spoke about President Bush during the Katrina telethon, it was not the particulars of your words that mattered, it was the essence of a feeling of the insensitivity towards our communities that many of us have felt for far too long.  It was the image of the President, our President, the President of the United States Of America, peering out the window of an airplane, as the people on the ground were drowning, that hurt us the most.  For centuries, our people have relentlessly tread water as hard as they could to stay afloat, and here we were, literally drowning, and it felt like the President was insensitive.  There is no need to apologize, Kanye.  You spoke from your heart and that is all we will ever ask from you.  Don’t be afraid of the press, as your art is your blueprint, thanks to Jay-Z, your big brother, we will always carry our destiny in our own hands.  You are are an artist whose art is masterful.  You are a servant to this world who no matter how hard it gets, keeps on giving.  Giving gifts that inspire us, challenge us and motivate us to be better family and friends.

Keep on, Kanye.  Keep on.  We love you.  We cherish you.  And we will always have your back.

DJ Whoo Kid Talks To Vibe Magazine!

VIBE: Whoever talked 50 into taking over his Twitter account truly created a monster.

DJ Whoo Kid: I think he got the new iPhone and they put the [Twitter] app on there. And then Yayo was talking about ‘go on’ and he just started wildin’ out. Once he saw how easy it was, that was it. Because before, he had a Blackberry, he didn’t really care too much about going online. Whatever he needed to promote, he had somebody promoting it. But now he has it in the palm of his hands, and he’s going bezerk. He cursed me out on there like twice. I’m like a f****** human punching bag on Twitter. But it’s all good because the more they curse me out, the more followers I get.

He cursed out Perez Hilton the other day, too.

This is like a nightmare now that he has 3 million followers, and I’m assuming he’s trying to break the 5 million follower capacity. But making him mad and he has Twitter is a nightmare , so I would suggest not to go at him too tough. Leave him alone. Because basically whatever he says on Twitter, everybody knows.

It seems like G-Unit is gearing up for a comeback with this EMI deal.

It’s been a long time. We’ve been waiting to put some crazy hot s*** out. But we’re just going with the times, transforming ourselves so we can mix in. You can’t go wrong with the music we have. Even the 50 Cent leaks are crazy. The remix he did with Jeremih, that s*** is outta here. And that’s just him f****** around. I was like, that’s a real record, what are you doing right now.

Other artists are reaching out now, too. Kanye just put Banks in his top five. Is there a G-Unit/G.O.O.D. Music collabo in the works?

It’s cool to receive respect from Kanye due to the fact that he’s lyrical too. Lyrical dudes have respect for other lyrical dudes. Banks is always talking to Fab, he’s always talking to dudes that have lyrical skill, Jay Rock to—everybody that spits bars, they all talk to each other.

But are they actually going to work together?

I guess that opened up the doorway—[50 and Kanye] have been talking about working together since a couple months ago—we all roll out together in a Euro tour. It’s the media that be hyping up all the beef and stupidity. But the real story is behind the scenes on how these dudes be talking. Because I been heard about this s***.

We’ll wait and see what happens with Banks and ‘Ye,
Banks said recently that you were on “timeout,” and that he wouldn’t be doing any mixtapes with you for a minute. What’s good with that?

He’s always f****** with me on Twitter. I’m assuming that’s because I sent a message to him about 50 saying that he used to date a midget. He got pissed off on Twitter. That’s just Twitter nonsense. We’ve been working on a mixtape. He’s done a whole bunch of songs already but we’re already too close to the drop date to drop a mixtape. We just want people to concentrate on Hunger For More 2.

So after the album you’ll probably do something?

It depends. We’re both always away. I got my 25-country birthday tour and he gets booked ridiculously off two singles. So scheduling alone is a nightmare. It’s good, we cant complain. We’re both doing good. He’s getting booked overseas more than a lot of artists I know.

Are you working with anyone else on a mixtape?

A lot of the mixtapes I’m doing now are being mixed down and in due time will come out. But I’m just leaking like one song at a time, promoting each situation. Me and Wyclef, we’re doing a mixtape. It’s going to be a lot of features. Other than that, a lot Tech N9ne and Snoop and Gucci Mane, I have nine or 10 mixtapes I’m doing at once. I always work in intervals and I just dump them all at once and then I just disappear.

Tell us about the Wyclef mixtape.

We’re working on it right now. We did like 5 or 6 joints on it. And there are some crazy featuers on there. You’re going to be surprised. It’s gonna be probably 40 percent Haiti dedication and 60 percent Wyclef Fugee returns with the Haitian killer Whoo Kid. All original production—I got Ski Beatz, Red Spyda, Cookin Soul. Shout out to Alchemist. We’re going to make it some sick s***. We’re going to do videos and all kinds of nonsense. On some Haitian general s***. Clef is yapping with a couple cats right now like T.I. and a couple other dudes, but we’re working it out.

Sounds dope. When is that dropping?

Probably before Halloween. It’s going to be crazy.

Tech N9ne’s been buzzing crazy, especially since Wayne gave him props.

He has a ridiculous fan base. And this is his first mixtape. I introduced Snoop to the mixtape phenomenon and all these other cats on the West Coast. They didn’t understand why you have to do a mixtape and give it away for free. So I had to fly there and explain to them. And I did the same thing with Tech. He’s always in the studio, doing songs over.

When’s his mixtape dropping?

Tech9 one will be out around the same time as Wyclef, before Halloween. It’s called Bad Season. So far we have E-40, Jay Rock, Too Short. I’ma have Snoop on there. We’re going to have a whole bunch of people, like, West Coast niggas. And then I’m possibly going to have Banks on there, too. It’s going to be on some sick s***.
