Tyler The Creator Interviews Nas For “XXL”!
Nas has been in the music business for 20 years and in the latest issue of XXL, he goes on reflection mode. And he did an interview with controversial rapper Tyler The Creator of Odd Future. Read highlights from their interview inside…..
As Nas prepares to release his 10th studio album, Life Is Good, he sat down to reflect on his career with controversial rapper and Odd Future member, Tyler The Creator. It was fitting since hip hop heads see Odd Future as the future of the game. Past meet present meet future.
Tyler interviewed Nasty Nas for the November 2011 issue of XXL Magazine (on magazine racks Oct. 25) and here’s some of the highlights…..
While the pair talked about a number of issues, one that stood out was the subject of happiness and his kids.
Tyler: “Are you, like—this question might catch you off guard, but I ask myself this—like, when you wake up, like, are you happy? Like, are you satisfied how everything turned out?”
Nas: “Dawg, I was naming my album Life Is Good because of how happy I am about how happy things have turned out. Sometimes I may wake up and wish my kids were living with me. That’s the only thing, you know what I mean? Our loved ones that are not around no more, like my mom. That’s the only thing. But other than that, everything is great, even when I’m alone. Even when there’s no one around.”
And the subject of longevity also came up with Tyler mentioning that he is 20-years-old, which is the same age Nas, Jay, and others were when they really burst onto the scene.
Tyler: “You, Em, Jay, Snoop, like, you guys all started when you was exactly my age. The fact that you guys are still here makes me just always think, like, Fuck, could I?”
Nas: “Oh, you definitely can. Someone like you is, you’re interesting, for a lot of reasons. So someone like you, you can’t wait to see what’s next.”
