Damon Dash’s response to Curren$y’s legal claims comes from the desk of his attorney:
My client’s initial reaction to the lawsuit was that of surprise, particularly in light of Curren$y’s numerous statements that the Muscle Car Chronicles would be released by BluRoc.
On March 15, 2012, the plaintiffs appeared in Federal Court to argue for a preliminary injunction seeking to enjoin my client from the continued distribution of Muscle Car Chronicles.
The plaintiffs’ application was denied in open Court by Federal Judge Andrew Carter and the album was permitted to remain available through iTunes and other retailers. While the situation remains ongoing, we are hopeful that an amicable resolution can be reached.
My client wishes Curren$y the best in all of his future career endeavors. However, he has expressed a deep concern with respect to the manner in which the artist’s attorney and manager have conducted themselves. He sincerely hopes that Curren$y is not being misled or pressured into making unwise decisions, such as the filing of what appears to be a potentially frivolous litigation.
Curren$y is suing Damon Dash for $1.5 million claiming he released his music without permission.
Curren$y claims Dash released two of his albums in 2010 — but the two still couldn’t reach an agreement … so Curren$y signed with Warner Bros. in January 2011.
But according to the lawsuit, Damon was unmoved — and CONTINUED to release Curren$y’s music despite the new WB contract, which gave WB exclusive rights to Curren$y’s jams.
Now, Curren$y is demanding the producer quit profiting off him in any way. Curren$y also wants $1.5 million in damages.
But Damon fired back at the accusations with his own response — claiming, he has the right to release the albums in question because he was given permission. What’s more — Damon says Curren$y stabbed him in the back, reneging on his agreement with Damon and signing with WB instead.

Nicki is looking to pad her pockets even more after inking a multi-million dollar deal with beverage giant Pepsi.
Forbes magazine broke the news Minaj’s new venture after a conversation with Glu Agency founder and CEO Derek Jackson revealed that he helped broker the deal the Queens-bred rapper and Pepsi cut just before YMCMB honcho Lil Wayne took to the stage at SXSW. Jackson has been busy, this after inking a similar deal for Weezy and Mountain Dew for the DEWeezy ad campaign. Jackson gave some brief details on Nicki’s new venture, including an aptly named upcoming product.
“You’ll see the commercial probably in the next two months,” Jackson told Forbes. “That’ll be a segue into a new beverage Pepsi has, called ‘Pop,’ and she’ll be the face of the brand; it’s going to be explosive.”
Jackson didn’t give exact numbers but confirmed that the signing is a seven-figure deal, mirroring Wayne’s Dew venture. A commercial for the “Pop” product wrapped up filming in South America last month as a result of the deal. Pepsi and Mountain Dew are also said to be putting money muscle behind an original film featuring Lil Wayne as well.

The Black Eyed peas frontman debuted the vehicle on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. The auto was developed to help create jobs in his old Los Angeles neighborhood. See, there are more ways to make it out the hood than sports and entertainment.
Will.i.am told Jay Leno,
“I’m a big technology freak and a geek and I invested my money in building my own vehicle ’cause I want to bring jobs to the ghetto that I come from. I invested in making a demo to start the Black Eyed Peas, now I want to invest to have a car company in the neighborhood where I come from. It’s sick, it’s really fresh.”
The car, which looks a lot like the Delorean from Back To The Future, features a Beats By Dre sound system and was constructed using OEM parts from Chrysler.
