Welcome the new signing to Curren$y’s Jet Life Recordings, Harlem rapper Smoke DZA.
Announced through Twitter early Wednesday (October 26), Curren$y (@Currensy_Spitta) wrote: “Well its late, but not to late to pop a bottle for @smokedza joining the set… J.L.R… Now to turn this bus into a celebration station.”
Curren$y and Smoke DZA have worked (and, no doubt, smoked) together numerous times, most recently on “Personal Party” from DZA’s Rolling Stoned project, which was released this summer. The pair also shared the stage during this year’s Smokers Club Tour.
Now, they will work together regularly as labelmates.
Curren$y, who was signed to Master P’s No Limit Records and Lil Wayne’s Cash Money label early on in his career, has seen a resurgence in popularity in the last few years, and looks to capitalize through his own Jet Life Recordings imprint.
Curren$y is gearing up to release a Jet Life compilation called Jet World Order featuring Jet members Young Roddy and Trademark Da Skydiver.
Jet World Order is due out on November 29th.
Check out a short clip below where Young Roddy & Trademark speak briefly about the upcoming project.
