Wyclef Jean Joins Nation Of Islam

Continuing to struggle during such tough economic times in the United Stated and trying to assist those in Haiti after suffered such tragedy, the country seems to need guidance and reassurance that a better day will come to fruition.

On February 26 and 27, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan will be in attendance for the Nation of Islam’s Annual Saviour’s Day Convention where he plans to address the ongoing woes of the country and the world.

Special guests such as Wyclef Jean, Raheeem DeVaughn, Frank Lucas and ‘The Real Freeway’ Rick Ross will be there to show their continued support.

This will serve as the 80th year anniversary of the Nation of Islam’s service to the Black community along with others that are victims to oppression in the country.

With the convention being held at the Stephens Convention Center in Illinois, Farrakhan will deliver a keynote address, “The Time and What Must Be Done”, on February 28 at the United Center in Chicago.

“I intend in my Saviours’ Day address to provide Divine warning and guidance from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad to the Black community to the American people and to our brother, President Barack Obama,” said Min. Farrakhan. “It is critical that everyone understand the time in which we live so that we can act in the manner that could save our lives.”

He also looks to address Haiti as the country continues to lend its support for the country.

“Haiti needs all the assistance she can get. We in the Nation of Islam are organizing our efforts to provide relief and in the spirit of the Million Man March, The Millions Women’s March and the Millions More Movement we encourage everyone to organize their efforts into a National Response to Haiti “If we come together and speak with one voice and use the brightest and best of our minds to organize an effective response to this from the entire Black and Hispanic community of America, what a statement that would make. After we assess what we have done and the success of it, we have a working model for bad days that may soon come upon us,” said Min. Farrakhan.

Anti-Smoking Ads Imitating Oral Sex Cause A Stir

Anti-smoking ads in France that appear to show a teen boy and a teen girl on their knees about to perform oral sex on a man are causing a stir.
The ads from the Non-Smokers’ Rights Association display the two adolescents kneeling at the waist of a businessman with a cigarette in their mouth.

The ads are meant to link smoking to submission and have a caption that reads,

“Smoking means being a slave to tobacco.”

The director for the Non-Smoker’s Rights Association, Remi Parola, is defending the ads and tells ABC News that while the sexual connotation is there, the message is still effective.

“Traditional advertisements targeting teens don’t affect them. Talking about issues of health, illness or even death, they don’t get it. However, when we talk about submission and dependence, they listen. The visuals have a sexual connotation, that I can’t deny, but it’s really a way to start a discussion with young people to get them to understand the dangers of smoking.”

The ads are scheduled to run in the country’s magazines and newspapers.

The country’s family minster is calling for a ban on the ads.
What do you think…are these ads too much or just enough?

2 Wannabe Players Rack Up $28,500 On Expensive Champagne To Impress Rapper…

Two wanna-be players looking to catch the eye of a rap star in a celebrity-studded Chelsea nightclub wound up behind bars after they rang up a whopping $28,500 tab on expensive champagne – and tried to pay for it all with a bogus credit card.

Robsson Depeine, 23, Jeff Sylvain, 24, and five of their friends had reserved a table Monday night in an exclusive section of M2 Ultra Lounge on West 28th Street, according to general manager Dan Devlin.
Rapper Juelz Santana was throwing himself a birthday party with guests that included Hip Hop superstars Lil Kim and Snoop Dogg, Devlin said.

Depeine and Sylvain ordered ten bottles of Moet Nectar Rose at $400 a pop, totaling $4,000, Devlin said. Depeine allegedly presented a valid ID and an AMEX card that initially checked out.
Later that night, the pair ordered thirty more bottles of Moet Nectar Rose, bringing the bill to $16,000, Devlin said.

In an effort to impress Juelz Santana and his entourage, the two Long Island men started sending some of the pricey bubbly over to the musician, who has collaborated with Chris Brown.
“They were certainly trying to impress them,” Devlin said.

Depeine then allegedly ordered a nine liter bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne for $3,500. Then he tried to order another nine liter bottle and a $5,500 twelve liter bottle.

“That’s when one of our managers became suspicious. The purchase was ridiculous and Sylvain introduced a second card with his ID and I knew that’s when there was a problem,” Devlin said.

According to a criminal court complaint, Sylvain’s New York State ID was an obvious forgery made out of flimsy material and different coloring. His American Express gift card was doctored using numbers associated with a genuine AMEX credit card.

The club’s staff quickly started taking back the champagne bottles from their table as well as Santana’s, sparking a melee.

When told that the jig was up, Sylvain and Depeine allegedly said, “You got to be kidding me. Are you kidding me?” The two allegedly tried to ditch their buddies and flee the hot spot, but security guards nabbed them.

They are being held on $20,000 bail on charges of grand larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Earlier that night, a man sporting a dapper tuxedo coat was busted for a similar crime at M2 after buying a $400 bottle of Moet Nectar Rose and trying to purchase three more, Devlin said.

Devlin said they’re taking proactive measures to counteract credit card fraud, working with the Chelsea’s 10th Precinct and The NYPD’s Identity Fraud Squad.

“The combination has made us very sharp now. People better think twice about coming here (with a stolen credit card) because you are going o go to jail,” Devlin said.

Chris Brown Announces His Support For Tiger Woods

E Online: Chris Brown and Tiger Woods are the same kind of cat. At least, that’s what the musician thinks.

During an interview with Mojo in the Morning, the “Forever” singer shares his sympathy for the troubled golfer when asked about the swinger’s public apology.

“My hat goes off to him,” Chris says. “I support him. I hope he gets back on the field and does his thing because he is the best at it.”

But the chatter doesn’t stop there. Without prodding, Rihanna’s ex-beau, a self-proclaimed nontroublemaker, offers a comparison to their current dramatic plights.

“I think people always deserve a second chance,” he says. “I know my fans gave me a second chance and people gave me a second chance.”

In Brown’s mind, it’s all about what you do in public, not behind closed doors.

“Whatever his personal life is—and I think this goes for me and him—his personal life is his personal life. Nobody has the right to place judgment or make any judgment on somebody else’s personal life when they’re not directly involved with them,” he continues. “He plays golf. That’s his sport, that’s his hobby, that’s his love, that’s what people love him for. They don’t love him for the other stuff that they talk about. Even with me, I do music, I sing songs, I’m an entertainer, I’m a performer. But people make mistakes.

“I think people have to realize that everybody’s human. The good thing is, if you learn from your mistakes, then that’s a part of life. I think that’s a part of living and learning from mistakes and becoming a better person and growing from situations.”

However, despite their similarities, Brown isn’t picking up the phone to talk to Tiger directly.

“I think at this point, he has a lot of that going right now,” he explains. “I’m more of a fan from the back. I don’t want to place myself too far into it. As soon as I say something, they’re going to put me on the front page of the news…and it’s a bigger story than it needs to be, you know?”

Too late now.

Lil Wayne Mad People Making Fun Of His Tweets

https://i0.wp.com/www.hollywire.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/lil-wayne-expecting-third-child.jpg

Less than a week after officially joining Twitter, it looks like Lil Wayne may now give up on the micro-blogging service. He sent word on Thursday (February 25) that he’s going to stop using Twitter because the feedback led him to believe his messages weren’t wanted.

Gunna stop with the tweets now that I see they’re so unliked,” Wayne wrote. “It’s a mirror of my thoughts, and obviously my thoughts aren’t [welcome]. Sorry.”

The rapper has only posted 18 times so far, but the sporadic tweets have been a mix of testing the waters and cryptic dispatches that are as loaded as his rhymes.

Love is a road without signs, yet we still drive bekuz we kan only imagine what’s ahead,” he wrote on Wednesday.

While the Cash Money Records superstar’s presence on Twitter has been supported by many — he already has over 172,000 followers — it appears he’s been reading responses to his tweets that aren’t very flattering.

Comedian Lil Duval has joked about the rapper’s philosophical tweets at Wayne’s expense. “I just found out Lil Wayne has a Twitter,” he wrote. “I just read his page, and I don’t have a clue bout what he’s talking ’bout.”

Duval then started the hash tag #LilWayneDeepTweets.

When walking thru a path we see…………….the road,” the comedian wrote, mocking Wayne’s style.

Other Twitter members then followed with an array of imitated Lil Wayne tweets. “I stood outside,” the 305 wrote. “Does that make me outstanding?

But Wayne’s fans have rallied with #weezydontleave. “You got me up at 3.30AM,” DorinaFbaby, a fan from Australia, wrote. “Barely awake beggin you to stay!

Next week, the rapper is expected to be sentenced to one year in prison after reaching a plead deal in his 2007 gun case. Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted gun possession and was set to begin his incarceration earlier this month, but a judge allowed a postponement due to dental surgery Wayne needed. Last week, he underwent eight root canals in one day.

Patti Labelle Goes In On American Idol Panel

Fox’s hit show American Idol took a couple shots this week from someone who knows what she is talking about.

R&B diva Patti Labelle told the Associated Press that the judging panel could use an overhaul.

Some of the judges, I don’t think they’re qualified to even judge,” she said in an interview Wednesday.

While she wasn’t specific about one particular judge, her comments mirror what a lot of fans already think.

Idol added a fourth judge to the competition last year. A move that doesn’t appear to have made a real difference in the quality of the show.

Paula Abdul, who was the only judge to have had a singing career before Kara DioGuardi was added, left the show before this season started.

Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres are in charge of finding this year’s Idol.

Ms Labelle thinks they are out of line with some of their criticisms of the singers.

The comments that were made, they could make you like wanna kill yourself,” the 65-year-old singer said.

Her advice to anyone trying out for the show is “If you believe in yourself, just go for it. What do you have to lose? And when people tell you ‘You can’t,’ you have to say, ‘I can.'”
